Axis collaborates on ‘The Perch’ at Mitsubishi Electric Classic

We’re looking forward to playing a special role in this year’s Mitsubishi Electric Classic. We are proud to present The Perch, which is designed to deliver supreme viewing options, ah-ma-zing food from Tequila Mama Taqueria, and delicious craft beers from our friends at StillFire Brewing and Slow Pour Brewing Company!

This first-time collaboration provides guests of The Perch with a local craft beer experience right on the course! We can’t speak for their putting skills, but our brewery partners have truly scored with a joint signature brew, Ace Azalea. In addition, StillFire Brewing will be releasing two delicious new nectars at this year’s tournament – Hoppy Gilmore IPA and Par 3 Pilsner!

You’re certainly don’t want to miss out on this good time, so grab your tickets now: https://bit.ly/3cohNeL

So what is a craft brewer anyway?

An American craft brewer is a small and independent brewer. Let’s break it down.

Small:
Annual production of 6 million barrels of beer or less (approximately 3 percent of U.S. annual sales). Beer production is attributed to a brewer according to rules of alternating proprietorships.

Independent:
Less than 25 percent of the craft brewery is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by a beverage alcohol industry member that is not itself a craft brewer.

Brewer:
Has a TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) Brewer’s Notice and makes beer.

The following are some concepts related to craft beer and craft brewers:

Craft brewers are small brewers.

The hallmark of craft beer and craft brewers is innovation. Craft brewers interpret historic styles with unique twists and develop new styles that have no precedent.

Craft beer is generally made with traditional ingredients like malted barley; interesting and sometimes non-traditional ingredients are often added for distinctiveness.

Craft brewers tend to be very involved in their communities through philanthropy, product donations, volunteerism and sponsorship of events.

Craft brewers have distinctive, individualistic approaches to connecting with their customers.

Craft brewers maintain integrity by what they brew and their general independence, free from a substantial interest by a non-craft brewer.

The majority of Americans live within 10 miles of a craft brewer.

October 4 is National Taco Day

I’ll take two.

But it’s also National Kale Day (vegans delight!). Around here we prefer to celebrate tacos and other foods – primarily barley and hops – that make beer a most delicious nectar, capable of delivering liquid satisfaction to those of a certain age. So, I ask you, Kale, what do you bring to the table?

Wonder no more

If you have no idea which glass you should choose for which beer, you are not alone. It’s a bit of a mystery and can be downright daunting… until you learn how to properly enjoy your favorite brew. This handy chart should answer any questions you may have. Cheers!

Glitter beer – It’s a thing?

Not sure if the April Fool’s Day release of this bit of news is coincidental or not, but… if Glitter (Disco) beer is truly an officially recognized competition beer style, then we’re all in! We are, however, slightly skeptical of this announcement’s authenticity as the featured pairings include Peeps, Nicholas Sparks novels, and Mariah Carey’s “Glitter” soundtrack, not to mention construction paper and glue.

Either way, we love the story. Check it out here from our friends at CraftBeer.com.
